I misunderstood the Buyclub question of half price. As a senior I understood that it was half price for AVS. It was in fact a half price CFF card. So we had the wrong tickets. We rang ahead and they agreed we could pay the extra. In the end on site we gave 4 1/2 price tickets for 2 adults. In other words they were flexible.
Maybe Buyclub could explain it more clearly in the next offer for Emosson - about 1/2 price NOT meaning AVS.
Despite the cloudy weather today we still enjoyed the trip and hope to to take the grandkids next time! Very friendly and obliging personnel working for the Verticalp.

Overcrowded, long queues both ways. We could not use the train and the final funiculaire in none of the two directions due to hours long queues. We had to walk. And the last departure time is too early, we would have preferred to stay longer. Next time, definitely will go with our car.

There was some confusion in the train with regards to which train station one needed to get out. As there are two Le Chatelard train stations. And the train station mentioned on the BuyClub voucher was a different name than the names of the two train stations.

Their « cafe » is a disaster. They need more hands in service, at every arrival of a funicular the team was overwhelmed by the clients. The kitchen people were on bad mood, and the waitress was so exhausted one almost felt like not nagging them with our needs. I cant imagine how they can run this in high season. Some self service machines or something may release the stress.

The larger funicular was very busy so social distancing was difficult. However, visitors wore masks and there was a decontamination tent at the beginning and end of the trip. Do not know how effective that was and not everyone used it.
