For CHD: part of the dental exam was enrollment in the "Garanti Soins Dentaire" program by my choice. (This is a program whereby they provide free dental work if you need it, as long as you visit the hygienist regularly and floss daily.) I understand that preexisting problems can't be covered but she was literally blowing cold air at sensitive parts of my teeth until I winced, without any explanation. This is a bad practice and as with any health care, the practitioner should explain what they are doing and why in advance. The dentist's "exam" seemed to be trying to find as many sensitive teeth as possible so she could eliminate them from the guarantee, it didn't make me feel like she was doing the exam in my best interest.
