Discover Ski Joering
Ski joering (aka horse-drawn skiing) is a unique outdoors experience that's fun, exciting & different than anything else. Trained horses are fitted with a harness that's connected to a bar for the skier to hold. The skier is then pulled by the horse, so its similar to waterskiing only on snow, and with a horse instead of a boat. It’s an amazing sport and a perfect way to experience the Alps and Aravis Passion is one of the only companies in the region that offers it. Almost anyone can participate in ski joering, as long they are seven years of age or older and have a 1 star or higher ski level.
What happens on the tour
After arriving at the meet-up point in La Clusaz (less than an hour from Geneva), you’ll receive a comprehensive safety breifing from the experienced Aravis Passion instructors. After that, the guide will lead you and the horses on an hour-long ride through well-groomed paths in the Alps. You’ll go at a slow and relaxing pace until you get the hang of things, but your guide can get the horses galloping if you want to increase the adrenaline factor.

Safety first
Aravis Passion has been organizing adventure tours in the mountains for over 15 years. Their tours are tailored to the level of the riders so you always feel comfortable and always have an amazing time. Safety is a top priority, and each tour is accompanied by a professional guide. Safety procedures are observed at all times.
Groups of Up to 6 People; Min 7 y/o & 1 Star Skier
Tours can include 2-6 people (plus a guide). If your group includes less than 6 people, Team Quad Loisirs might merge it with another group. You need to be at least 7 y/o and have at least a 1 star ski level to participate.
Booking, Equipment & Cancelations
Ski joering expeditions take place on Sundays, Mondays, & Tuesdays and must be booked in advance. You can bring your own ski boots & skis (155 cm max) or rent them onsite (Euro 5 for shoes & Euro 5 for skis). No other special equipment is required—just wear appropriate outdoor clothing. Cancelations must be received at least 24 hours in advance or your voucher will count as used.
Horse care
The horses used are cared for by the family who owns the operation, and are treated extemely well and with love. They have set breaks and a limited number of runs per day.
